How an LGL Networks engagement runs — setup to teardown

We run and stand behind your event's mission-critical network — setup to teardown — so registration, payments, production and streaming stay connected. Here is exactly how we get from a first conversation to a deployed, monitored, documented network — and how we keep non-refundable spend off the table until venue access is confirmed in writing.

One accountable operator, one ordered process

One accountable operator instead of finger-pointing across venue, AV, payment, registration and carrier vendors. The engagement is deliberately sequenced so the risky decisions — circuit orders, freight, union calls — never happen before access and scope are locked.

Access before spend

We qualify venue exclusivity and secure written authorization before any non-refundable commitment. We supplement venue circuits where permitted; we never bypass exclusivity or touch demarc, pathways, or dark fiber without permission.

Wired-first, segmented design

Payments, registration, production, streaming and staff operations ride a segmented LAN with wired drops on the critical paths, behind the venue circuit. Attendee access is an add-on, never the lead.

Tested, then stood behind

Nothing goes live on an unverified network. We run a documented pre-opening acceptance and failover test, monitor through teardown from onsite and the NOC, and deliver a post-event report covering performance, incidents, and recommendations.

The eight-step lifecycle

From first qualification call to post-event report. Steps 1–3 protect your spend; steps 4–6 build and prove the network; steps 7–8 operate and account for it.

  1. Qualify access

    We confirm venue exclusivity, supplemental-network permissions, demarc and pathway constraints, RF environment, and labor jurisdiction. If a venue or segment structurally forbids a third-party operator, you learn it now — not after non-refundable spend.

  2. Event Network Risk Assessment

    The free Event Network Risk Assessment documents critical applications, segmentation design, data-responsibility assumptions, pathways, RF, and a preliminary bill of materials before any circuit order or freight.

  3. Written venue authorization

    The gate before non-refundable spend. The organizer holds or secures written venue authorization to deploy the supplemental overlay. No authorization, no deployment.

  4. Design & segment

    We finalize the segmented architecture — isolating payment, production, registration, attendee, contractor and management traffic — wired-first for payments, registration, encoders and production. Dual-WAN where venue policy permits.

  5. Deploy the overlay

    During setup we install the Critical Operations Network overlay: a segmented LAN and wired drops behind the venue circuit. Pre-labeled deployment pods and documented configs let a proven network land fast and consistently.

  6. Pre-opening acceptance & failover testing

    Before go-live, we run a documented acceptance test: segmentation holds, WAN failover lands inside its target window, critical-system redundancy is live, and monitoring is reporting. The result is recorded.

  7. Operate & monitor

    Through the event and to teardown, an onsite network lead handles incident response while the NOC monitors remotely. Our accountability covers the network and transport we operate — redundancy, segmentation, availability — a scope defined in writing in the statement of work.

  8. Post-event report

    After teardown we deliver a written report: acceptance results, any incidents and time-to-failover, availability and failover performance against the targets defined for the event, and notes that feed your next event.

The venue-authorization gate

Because the venue — not the organizer — controls pathways and access, this single gate is the most important moment in the engagement.

Before the gate. Conversations, the Risk Assessment, preliminary design and a preliminary BOM. Everything here is reversible and low-commitment. No circuits are ordered, no freight is booked, no union calls are placed.
After the gate. With written venue authorization in hand, we move to final design, circuit provisioning, equipment staging and deployment scheduling. This is where non-refundable provisions begin — which is exactly why we will not cross it without authorization.

After the assessment: how an engagement is structured

Once venue access is confirmed, the engagement is structured around the real, non-cancellable obligations we take on to stand behind your network.

Venue authorization
Secured in writing before any non-refundable spend.
Connectivity
Non-cancellable circuit provisions — carrier orders commit on lead times we cannot reverse.
Change orders
Scope changes after authorization are handled through defined, written change orders.
Insurance
Cyber-liability and E&O coverage are in place before any revenue deployment.
Accountability
We stand behind the network and transport we operate — a scope defined in writing in the statement of work.

Where our accountability starts — and stops. Our accountability is for the network and transport we operate — availability, redundancy, segmentation and failover. Common questions about the process

Is the Risk Assessment free?
Yes. The interactive Event Network Risk Assessment is free — a documented evaluation of your venue rights, critical systems and segmentation. It converts into a scheduled risk assessment call where we scope deployment, and you keep the written findings either way.
What happens if the venue denies authorization?
The engagement stops at the gate before any non-refundable spend. You keep the assessment's findings — the documented design, data-responsibility assumptions and BOM — and we have not committed circuits or freight on your behalf.
Do you replace or compete with the venue's internet?
No. We supplement venue circuits where permitted and run a segmented overlay behind them for your critical operations. We never bypass venue exclusivity, and this is not commodity bandwidth resale.
Can our production or AV partner deliver this under their contract?
Yes — white-label delivery through production and AV partners and corporate venues is a core channel. Your client sees one integrated event package while we own the network operations layer.
